As a fan of The Police, I have to say that I was really looking forward to them opening the Grammys. After all, this was only the second time in the last 20 years that they had performed together. Plus, there was the possibility that Stewart Copeland might drill Sting in the back of the head with a drumstick, which would be immensely entertaining.
So I tune into the Grammys (something that, as a general rule, I never do out of principle), hoping that they would tear into something fun, like “Synchronicity II” or “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” (I know that wishing for something super cool like “Demolition Man,” “Hole in My Life,” or “Masako Tanga” would have been completely futile, but I digress). So what do they trot out and do? “Roxanne.” Freakin’ boring-ass, heard it on the radio a million times, worst song on their first album “Roxanne.” Granted, it was fun to watch them on stage, but it would have been so much better had they picked another song. Like any other song in their library.
Man, I hate the Grammys.

The Grammys suck. You know this. You watched anyway. You were disappointed. You went into it thinking you might not be. Duh. The outcome is so predictable that had you said to me, “Hey, I think I’m going to check out the Police reunion on the Grammys,” I would’ve written this post for you ahead of time.

Uh…I didn’t say I watched the rest of it. The only reason I turned in was to see a band that I enjoy play. As soon as they were done, I stopped watching. I was just hoping that they wouldn’t have dusted off their worst single, which they did.
And so, I watched 2 minutes of the Grammys. However, you watch all 2+ hours of formulaic blow crap up action movies produced by the likes of Bruckheimer, when you knew full well they are going to suck. And you get disappointed when they have no substance behind the style. Therefore, I have no choice but to return your “duh.”

Yeah, I’m a hypocrite with no taste for culture. Good night.

Oh yeah, the “Godzilla” thing. Thanks for that. Again.

Hey you two, wouldn’t it properly be “GrammIES”? Just askin. I agree with you both that however you spell it, they still suck.
